I have an 05 Ultra. Egine, battery light came on yesterday and my dash volt meter was at 10 volts. Changed batterys with another rider. Made it home. I believe its the voltage regulator. It just has no output. Checked the stator using the HD manual and an OHM meter appears good. less than .5 ohm and it doesn't ground. Checked for loose wires...none.
I have EW for another year just have to get an appointment with a dealer. Just like to be on top of dealer jargle before I go in.
Any opinions would be appreciated.

reg is the easiest thing to replace............. one wire to the batt.and the plug to the stator.sounds like you did all the correct troubleshooting, just get the reg and install it yourself, save the money on labor.

 

get the dealer to fit the bill, its under warranty.

 

I get to drop it off thursday night. Pick up saturday. Perfect for me. I would change it myself if it wasn't warrenty...but it is.
