Hey all,
need some advice.
I am finally making changes to my '03 Softail. I was thinking about adding a K&N Stage 1 AC Kit, PCIII and V&H Big Shot Staggered.
Question:I have seen a few threads that recommend the K&N over the Screamin' Eagle Kit, are there any others anyone can recommend? Is this the right combo? Comments, thoughts please!

Q2: PCIII/SERT vs Stock ECM - I recently read a review that states most ECMs can handle the Stage 1 Kit and pipes without the Race Tuner or PCIII, is this really true? The gist of the review was that the Race Tuners and PCIII fine tune the fuel air mixture but the ECM will automatically adjust to the new pipes and Stage 1 Kit.

the 07's and 06 and later dynas have a closed loop fuel system, i.e. o2 sensors. yours does not. you need to remap or use a fuel processor to add pipes and an air cleaner

I recommend the arlen ness big sucker kit, EASY install and it uses a K&N filter
I also recommend the PCIII USB as well, easy to use, and will adjust to anything you want to do to the bike

 

thanks for the tip. i had looked at the Ness kit as an option as well. I'll post the results when i get it all put together.
