Default Smart Tune info needed

I was curious if smart tune would say correct cams , Lets say you put in a bigger cam size HD doesn't make? or say you loaded the 131 tune but you kept a 515 cam instead of 517 or will it only autotune what they know ???

Hello mate, the program won't change cam events and there is no way to do it manually other than picking a start cal with a cam similar to what you are running, not ideal but that's how it is.

Yup that's the issue. I have a SEPST, so as far as timing goes you're pretty well limited to Harley cams unless you have access to a Dyno. I have SE204's and was thinking about getting some EZY Starts (no ACR's) but I can't match any to a HD cam/map that are close, and even if I did, smart tuning won't address any cam timing changes. At least that's what I've been told.

Jim there is still a lot to be gained with the program, pick a cal with a similar intake close that will work with your model, adjust the cubic inches in tuning constraints and any other variables you have access to, do some smart tunes to dial in your VE's, if you want to get into the timing tables you can use a program called MyTune, it works with the SE data to manipulate your timing tables, if your mods are not wild you will with a bit of time and effort get a decent result, failing that it's off to the dyno tuning shop.
Hope that's some help mate.

Lol, actually use My Tune to dial in my SEPST smart tune sessions. Thanks for the tip about picking a cam with a similar intake close.

My apologies Crazysc, for hijacking your thread. If you're upset about it, just contact BuzzCap7 and he will show up with his frying pan to whack me in the head

I used the SE 204 base cal for my S&S 570s in a 103. It ran rich at idle and just off idle til the VE tables were dialed in on a dyno. Even before touching any ignition timing it did a strong 4th gear pull.

3200 to 5700 rpm doesn't work for my riding style
