50/100W headlight O.K to run
Just purchased a Springer headlight that comes with a 50/100w halogen bulb. Is there anything to worry about as far as my wiring or anything, I don't want to fry it. I don't know a thing about electricity so I'm just making sure. My current headlight uses a 50/65w bulb now, I do know that.
Thanks.
Thanks.

RE: 50/100W headlight O.K to run
current draw is the key here. I don't know much more than you, but as long as the current draw of a much higher powered bulb is close tooriginal spec, you should be fine.
For five years i have been running aPIAA Superwhite H4 bulb which is rated at 115W/135W yet it only draws 85W. No problems whatsoever - same bulb still good.No overheating of wiring, no melting of connector block. And it is a great night light for my occasional 150 mile 2am rides home from working away. Part numberPIAA15080 if you are interested....
(yes I know there are a lot of 'smoke and mirrors' arguments about superwhite bulbs. All i DO know is that this is a vast improvement over the stock bulb and I am really happy riding at night)
