Need help Bike still killing on me.
I have an 03 FLHTC with 33000 miles and is stock so far. The bike is carburated. I have an issue where I am riding down the road and after the bike warms up it dies suddenly.Allthe guages work but the RPM's drop to0. I checked to see if I have spark and I have none. I replaced the Ing coil. I replaced it because I was told to. It still dies. I ohmed out the plug wires and right in range with what the service manual says.
I have checked the main breaker when it happenes and have power to both sides. it turns over just no spark. Let it sit for a bit and it will fire up and run for a bit. What I would like to know is how do I check the map sensor, Crank sensor, or the Ignition modual. Will Hd test the ign mod? Is there a way to test it?
Is there anything else that I am overlooking? Any help in testing this stuff would be great. I talked to the HD dealer and they are booked for 2+ week before they can even look at it. I would rather not wait that long. Thanks for taking your time to read this. I hope some one can answer my questions.

RE: Need help Bike still killing on me.
Think laterally. It runs then dies. 'let it sit for a bit' then it will run for a bit more.
That points to heat-inspired fault.
'all the gauges work.....good main breaker...no spark'
ignition sytem is **** up.
Tell the wife you want to look good for her, and borrow her hairdryer.
While she has fainted with shock, go to garage and start the bike. immediately blast a hairdryer at the module. See if it breaks down quicker with heat from the dryer.
It sure sounds like this could be the problem.
A module fault means replacement. There's no fix for the black box. My last one (not OEM) did 50,000 miles. Guess you are near the ballpark.
Sorry I have zero experience with sensors.....that stuff scares me. my ride is an 85FXEF with no electric start even.
Good luck.

I had the same thing happen. I replaced the crank position sensor $63 and 40 amp. breaker. ( located in front of battery) They didn't have a breaker so I purchased a 40 amp at the NAPA store for $8 that fit the stock mount. Seems fine now, the tech at the shop felt sure it was connections at breaker, the wire connections were fine, so I didn't change them. The CPS took about 30 minutes to change, the manual actualy had good instructions. The tech did say the older CPS with the metal stud in the center had been known to lose the stud and wind up wires in the lower end, the new one has a rubber cap covering the end. Mistery electrics are just that, Dave
