EVO - What is your favorite Ignition System
Building this bike from frame up, I did not have a complete electrical system and wired it myself with points until I figure out what I really want. I know nothing about harley and after market electronic ignition systems, but I do know the difference between single fire and dual fire. There are quite a few of both types on the market. I have a 94 stock EVO engine but will upgrade it later so I want something that is flexible in that respect. I will never drag race it, maybe a little light to light with some friends, but I want reliable, fuel efficient and power just like everyone else (I know there is some give and take there).

So what is your favorite ignition system and why??

Thanks for those opinions. I am looking at the Kendall Johnson Customs Ignition Module made by Twin Tec. Model number is 1005 and it has loads of features that I can not possibly out grow.

It has several advance curves built in and you can modify them or download your own with a PC or laptop. It can be set for Single or Dual Fire, use the VOES (or not) and has multi-spark options too.

Installed the Kendal Johnson (Daytona Twin Tec) electronic ignition and single fire coil. Set it for Single Fire with Multi-Spark enabled. Set it on advance curve 5 (stock Evo on 89 octane) and rev limit at 5700 (recommended for stock) Runs great, maybe a little less vibration at higher RPM but not as much as I was led to believe. Will report on Gas Mileage soon. I was getting 40-42 mph. Bike is 5 spd with stock pulley on the tranny and 70 tooth on the wheel. Tire is 250/40/18.
