Hot fuel pump issue

Hot fuel pump issue
So the other day, temp was around 100 degrees, only had about 1/4 tank of gas. Bike sat in the sun from 8-5. I go to start my bike and would only crank. Inspecting things noticed the Fuel pump wasn't making a priming noise. So figured it crapped out on me. Towed the bike home, got it off the trailer. Decided to give it another try, heard the pump prime, and it started right up. (assumed the fuel splashing around maybe cooled the pump off?)
So shoud I change the pump or keep plenty of gas in the bike if it's going to sit out in the heat like that?
