Default Power vision on non O2 bike??

Looking at buying the power vision for my 05 wide glide. With only vh long shots and a high flow air cleaner. I look on their site and can not find any maps to download for the 88 at all? Am I crazy or is there a different route I should go?

If you email them a map request, they will get you taken care of.

you can still get the power commander 5 (PC-5) for your bike and there are many maps on Dynojet's web site to use ...or call FuelMoto and they should be able to hook you up with the tuner and will load a map for you ...

I would second the power commander for a 88”, but you can always weld sensor bungs in your head pipes. That’s what I had to do when I put a 120” in my ultra.

Thanks for the quick responses. My local shop has a dyno and swears by power vision but is trying to tell me to buy a license agreement for power vision so he can dyno it but that route he says is 700$??? Seems a little steep to me? I just looked at the fuel Moto power vision with their pre made map and it’s running 400$ not bad at all. Think that will be the route I go and then down the road have it dyno tuned. I don’t need to squeeze every inch of power at the moment wild just like it to get out of this super lean stage for now

Chris is it you? You dont trust me? I'm devestated. Just because you read it on the internet, doesn't mean it's actually factual and true.

There’s no doubt in my mind youre the only place I would take my bike when I can’t do it my self. Just trying to learn about it and see what’s the best route for the money.

Don’t expect a canned map to be a proper map for YOUR bike. Nothing beats a proper dyno tune.

Great plan. Spend the $400 for a Vision and a canned map. Then when you learn what a canned map is. Then you can go to your tuner and pay him for a dyno tune. But now you have paid $400 for a tuner and just not $200 for a license. So, you learning is going to cost an extra $200 plus a little extra for having to eat crow with your tuner. Does the price of the tune goes up if you bring your own tuner in?

Yep, knowledge is power and people should pay for the education. Why listen to the guy you trust to work on your bike wen a dot com guy can sell you anything and then just walk away from the tuning part. I would also make sure that the tuner is still willing to tune the bike afterwards. Sometimes I find it much easier just to let that one go.

...and a couple other points...
A flash tuner (P/V, TTS) is a better tool. That said, for a 88” stage1 application, a used Power Commander 5 is ideal simply because of cost vs benefit.
Better acceleration, throttle response and the cherry on top is the increase in fuel mileage you get with a proper dyno tune. Doesn’t take long to recoup a dyno tune at present fuel prices...at least here out west. And you have a nicer running bike to enjoy.
