I’ve got a 2007 fltr I bought years ago and it came with a “screaming eagle efi race tuner kit” (apparently installed). I’ve just ordered today Vance n Hines headers, cfr slip ons and a Vance n Hines fp3.

How exactly do I “detune” my bike? Because I’m assuming bike will need to be back to stock for fp3 to work

Go to a dealer and pay him to reflash the stock flash back on.
There is no way to do it with a SERT or SEPST

Just my opinion, but I think you are going backwards with your FP3 purchase. The Race Tuner is a MUCH better system in my opinion.

 

Its too out out of date for me (needs laptop with windows xp) I honestly don’t know anybody with that old of windows on a computer. With the FP3 it’ll just make life so much easier

 

You can look up the serial and get a download from harley for the computer which would be up to date. the race tuner is essentially same thing as powervision, can do all the same things where as the fp3 won't. fp3 is good for user interface, but doesn't compare to a true race tuner. I got the same tuner on my bike. saved lots of money. 3 hrs at the dealer on the dyno, the tune is perfect. you can set a base map and auto tune with fp3, but for in depth stuff, stick with the race tuner.

 

No I think he has a Screamin Eagle Race Tuner (SERT) not a Screamin Eagle Pro Super Tuner (SEPST)

Different altogether as Harley sold the SERT from 01-07 and the SEPST from late 07 onwards.

The SERT was a product of TTS licensed through HD and from they had a falling out with them HD went elsewhere

ahhhh, yea that one is different from mine, I got the pro race tuner. (orange one)

 

No the black and orange with a push button are the same the one with no push button is the old one.

 

and now they don't sell the race tuner at all. emissions control or some such i believe it was. They can any aftermarket tuner, but voids the warranty I believe.
