15 Fatboy Lo has a loud click but won’t start
Hi,
I just got got my bike out of storage a couple of weeks ago and it ran great going home. I drove it one more time then it sat for almost two weeks. I tried to start it today, it powered up nicely, clicked it to run, waited for the injectors to wind up, then when I hit start I get a loud metallic click and nothing else. Just one big click, the lights go off then on very briefly and nothing.
I made sure the battery was charged, checked to make sure the battery was connected in properly (completely removed and replaced the wires) and still nothing.
Any ideas?
thanks,
Jim

Charge it first. A discharged battery will fail a load test ever time. You need a Harley maintenance charger $40 and simple AC/DC/ohm meter $20. Hooked to the battery, it should read 12.7 DC. 12.3 is dead. Cranking, it should never drop below 9.6 under starter load with a charged battery. If it does, it is worn out. Running, it will read 14.9- 13 depending on RPM and battery condition.
All you need and to know about battery.
I know an Andy Foley from Syracuse NY
