I have a 1996 FXSTC and it will not start. Ignition will turn on and all lights will work as they should, but when I went to start the bike, nothing, no clicking, battery is good, replaced the relay just in case. I'm guessing its something between the ignition switch and relay because it's not even clicking. I haven't checked the starter yet. Any information would be great, trying to save money by not paying to get it diagnosed and fixed.

Do you have a voltmeter?

 

Didn't mean to offend if it came across that way. I can do all the basics mechanically, but when it comes to electrical, I have little to no experience. I just got home from work and plan to take a voltmeter to it. I just don't have a manual to see what wire is what. Thank you for your help.

 

Check for voltage at the ignition fuse, check at both sides of the fuse.

Since this goes back 5 years, I'll bet that one way or another the OP resolved it. We may never know. He hasn't been exactly forthcoming with details.

 

sorry I never got back on here for updates. I never figured out the exact problem. I ended up buying a SS 111 with a mikuni 45mm. Best decision I have made. Sorry for the lack of information for you.

I was driving it at the time on the highway and it just died and never started again. That was my 80 evo. Best of luck to you.
