Question Cranks but no fire

05 classic w/EFI. Rode bike last week and all was good, went to ride today and it will not start. Cranks over, fuel pump comes on. Pulled plugs and they look good, checked all fuses all good. With one plug pulled at a time, but wire on placed against head and cranked, no fire. Did this on front and rear plugs. Bike has been getting harder to start, taking longer than usual to start. Do you think it could be the coil? Is there a way to check coil on bike? And before someone asks it has fresh gas in it.

I figured it out, the previous owner had installed a Dynojet Power Commander. I disconnected it and plugged harness straight to ecm and it started right up. Now need to decide whether I want another Power Commander or not.

you might try plugging the PC back in and seeing what happens, it could have been a dirty connection, down here in florida i get wet very frequently, every couple of years if i ran in to some real heavy water the connector would get fouled and i'd have to clean and dry it and all would be good again. if it still doesnt run after cleaning the connection, get yourself a PV and be done.

The connectors were dry and still have dialectric grease on them. What's a PV? I went to PC website and the troubleshooting section it mentions for HD hard/ no start problems that it frequently is a weak crank sensor, might have to check that out. Way cheaper than a new PC. Plus I have no idea of any other mods besides pipes.

Harley crank error or no startIf you are getting a hard, or no start problem with a Power Commander installed you may need to have the CKP (crank position sensor) on the bike checked for its output voltage. When they get to the lower limits of their specified range (weak) they can cause errors when the Power Commander is connected. It is a very common occurrence on the older Magnetti Marelli equipped bikes. Sometimes the sensor can pick up metal particles from the crankcase, removing the sensor and cleaning it off may correct the problem. If the sensor tests out at a voltage near or at the lower limits of the specified range, the sensor should probably be replaced as it is an indication that it will soon fail completely. PV= Powervision, the more modern flash tuning tool for harley davidson. not a piggy back module like a PC3 or PCV. you can check your crank sensor voltage if you'd like, but if it runs with the PC dissconnected, the problem is most likely with the PowerCommander. you can also send the PC back to DynoJet for repair or replacement at a discount.

I have a 2003 heritage Softail classic it will crank but will not start. I have changed the fuel pump, the fuel filter, both injectors, the crank position sensor, I’ve cleaned the 30 amp breaker, I get spark but the bike will not start. It will fire off when I put brake cleaner in the throttlebody but once it has burned off it will stop. Any other recommendations?

you need to make sure that the fuel pressure is getting from the tank to the induction module, there is a test adapter that hooks up in-line at the fuel tank line fitting. your check valve could be bad, or you could be losing line pressure in the tank, not allowing it to get to the induction module. test pressure is first step.
