In tank fuel flex hose replacement with neoprene, nylon, or Tygon lines.
Given ethanol tainted gasoline's deteriorating affect on the standard HD OEM flex hose, are ethanol resistant in tank/ submerged in gasoline fuel lines a viable alternative? Has anyone had experience with non-OEM alternatives to the in tank flex hose?
Mechanics and garages received a windfall of new work replace fuel lines in cars (& almost everything else gas powered) with the forced feeding of ethanol into gasoline. Most replace the prematurely corroded lines with those resistant to ethanol such as neoprene, nylon, or Tygon.
Standard neoprene fuel hose can be used for fuel, PCV and EEC systems on all vehicles where working pressures are under 50 psi or vacuum ratings are under 24-in. Hg for 7/16-inch and smaller inside-diameter sizes (10-in. Hg for ½-inch diameter hose).
Gas-resistant nylon tubing can be purchased by the foot or in short sections.
Tygon, is a gas resistant vinyl tubing used in lawnmower, ATV or motorcycle. Either clear or transparent yellow Tygon will outlast the standard vinyl and does not turn brown and brittle after extended use.
