Talk with Jame @ Fuel Moto about PCIII
I had a rather long talk with Jamie at Fuel Moto about various things, including the problems people have been complaining about (hesitiation, delayed start, decel popping), and he provided some interesting info I thought I would pass along.
Decel popping: He said this is usually caused by poor sealing at the muffler. Try using a high-temp sealer (e.g., high-temp copper) or anti-sieze compound and tighten the clamp down well. I used Permatex Anti-Sieze and am having no decel-popping issues.
Hesitation: Jamie said they have tuned hundreds of TC's, including recent models, and have yet to incur one case of hesitation. He wants to make this offer: If you bought a PCIII package from Fuel Moto and have a hesitation problem, he will do a free dyno tune if you'll bring the bike to his facility. He won't pay your expenses to and from his location, however, but the tune and diagnosis is free. He's had three people take him up on this offer and none of the three showed any hesitation at any time during the tuning process or on test rides before or after. He also said that a rep from DynoJet had personally inspected three bikes reportedly affected by the hestiation and none of them exhibited any problems when he was present. Don't yell at me, I'm just the messenger! Based on our talk, I believe Jamie when he says he hasn't seen it, is very interested, and wants to get the problem fixed. He said if he ever gets a bike at his facility with this problem, he will immediately contact DynoJet to do diagnostics while it is there.
Delayed start-up: Start the bike immediately after turning on the ignition rather than waiting for the "check engine" light to go off. This hurts nothing.
He said he regretted email delays, but that he gets hundreds every day and must go through each to determine if they are from customers. You must cite your Inv# with all emails. He said half the map requests are from people who bought their hardware elsewhere. The best way to get in touch with him is by phone.
Jamie is emailing me the newest PCIII firmware upgrade, which he said cleans up the code and could help with some of these problems. I might put this up my FTP site for everyone to download. Stay tuned.

Great info. Thanks for going the extra mile and getting this out. I also purchased from FuelMoto and the experience was positive. I have found Jamie to be knowledgeable and more than willing to help.

Not wishing to start any crap here but it seemed the focus of your report was they could not find any "problems" when they checked the bikes. So why do you need a "firmware upgrade" which could help with "some of these problems"
Maybe I missed something?

RE: Talk with Jame @ Fuel Moto about PCIII
Jamie emailed me the new firmware this afternoon. Installed it and went on a 2 hour ride in stop and go traffic. Absolutely cured my stumble. I did pick up a little more decel pop but I can live with it. It absolutely cured my off idle stumble. Good work Dyno Jet and thank you Jamie!!!
BTW, the firmware on Jamie's website is the same one he emailed me today. If you are having the stumbling issue, load the firmware, problem solved!

RE: Talk with Jame @ Fuel Moto about PCIII
I emailed DynoJet regarding the new firmware and the slow starting issue I am having with my '07 Ultra:
You don’t need the firmware update unless you are planning on adding the LCD display. The starting issue is still in the workshop. There will be some sort of bulletin once we have finalized any changes.
Thank you,

RE: Talk with Jame @ Fuel Moto about PCIII
i agree i bought a new p.c. 3 usb and at the same time had it dynoed and i have put about 1500 miles and no problems at all. runs and works great. would'nt trade it i know there has been alot of people on here that had problems but there has been problems with the fuel pack and sert.myself i think enless you do it every day tuneing these in take it to some one who knows . and that would take care of alot of problems that is going on.not to hurt any body's feelings but i have been around bikes for a long time did alot of my own work. but some times thing's is not as easy as they appear.

RE: Talk with Jame @ Fuel Moto about PCIII
I bought the PCIII and map for my Dyna's setup from Jamie at Fuel Moto. It runs superb. Just smooth acceleration andno hunting or surge when keeping a constant speed.
I would imagine he sent the updated firmware because it's a Dynojet upgrade and felt his customers deserve the latest firmware regardless of any issues or not.
