I need some Help!!!
While changing out the levers on my wifes 883 Sportster I had some problems getting the switch housing back together and I think I must have pinched wires to the starter button because a fuse blown. When I pulled out the old fuse and put a new fuse from the "Spare" fuse provided (Per the owners manual) Now the neutral light does not come on. It makes me think the "sparefuse" wasn't actuallt a spare fuse afteral and it somehow linked to the neutral light. Is this possible. I need to buy a new fuse because the "sparefuse" was used in the blown fuse spot and now there is a slot without a fuse in it . Damn I think I confused myself after all that , but thats the best I can explain it. When I turn the key on the 4 way flashers now flash 3 times then go off. The bike does not have a security system either. any ideas?
Thanks

RE: I need some Help!!!
You said you "think" you pinched a wire. Did you take the switch housing apart and repair the pinched wire(s)? If not, do that before replacing any fuses or they will just keep blowing. Once you have all the wires repaired, then replace the blown fuse and check to see if any symptoms continue. My bet is all will be well. (Been there myself!)

Yea it was just a missing fuse. Apparently when harley claims a fuse is a spare, it means a spare for emergency use only. The fuse they claimed was a spare controlled the dash lights, Nuetral switch, engine on light, and oil light. That to me is not a "Spare Fuse" as their manual claims. Thanks for the replies
