Default How soon to tune the bike?

I picked up the Ultra last month and promptly ordered some slippons and a tuner. I got the slippons put on last week. Was hesitant on the tuner since I only have a couple hundred miles. I wanted to make sure the bike was running good before messing with the tune in case something failed early on. Whats everyones take? Just throw it on now, or wait till I get a few more miles? Now sure how much of a difference it will make with just the slippons at the moment, but I have tune just about every vehicle I owned and it usually wakes it up pretty nicely.

If the bike is running like a new bike, which it is, I don't see any reason not to tune it. Waiting for something to fail can take a very long time.

Depends what your definition of "tune" means.
If you want it to actually run better-the overall tune starts with head removal and a lot more.
Otherwise, you are just fiddling with the AFR.

Well, I ended up throwing the tune on it. Doesn't seem to make that big a difference without the supporting mods. So I guess that means I need headers and an intake now
