Default Thunder Max Install and new radio question?

I am in the middle of installing my new thunder max and I just realized I may have a problem. My dealer is replacing my radio this friday due to a problem with it, I think they have to "marry" the radio to the bike and I wonder if this is something that my Tmax will keep them from doing. Does anyone know if this will be a problem?

I can't think of anyway the Tmax will interfere w/ the radio. If they disconnect the battery to do the radio install you may want them to remove the ECM fuse and re-initialize the Tmax after everything is hooked back up.

apparently when installing a new radio they have to hook up the "digital technician" to the diagnostic port to tie the radio to the bike. I don't know if that will work right with the tmax installed. I can't really turn back now though as I have destroyed one of the stock o2 sensors getting it off.

If you're worried. buy a new sensor and install it.

It's probably marrying it to the TSSM, in which case the ECM shouldn't have any effect on it. They'll just have to unplug the autotune module to get at the connector.

Frank, I think your answer may be the case as it does not make sense that if it was married to the ECM then it would stop working when the tmax was installed. Thanks for the heads up.

Do they make a splitter for the diagnostic port?

Zippers wants $29.95 plus shipping for the splitter. H-D has the exactsame thing for $14.95, part # 70264-94A. First time I've seen a dealer cheaper on anything!
