Can't see how a battery can hurt a fuel pump. Did you check the relay, wiring connections, fuses etc.? Is there power going to it?
Would help to know what kind of bike you have.

Welcome to the forum.

What I was thinking too. One to go bad - okay. But a second one that fast? Something does not add up. Sounds like something else is wrong to me.

OP, welcome to the site and hope you get it worked out.

Could be the first one just ran out of its life, and the second was a bad apple from the get go; dying quickly. Third times a charm. Isn't there a warranty on the replacement pump?

Did you check to see if voltage is actually getting to the pump? A common is is bad system relay if you bike has one.

It could go bad fast if it was run dry.

Any time an electric motor fails you should do a voltage drop test on the circuit. You can easily hook up a 12V bulb in place of the pump and be sure it is dropping battery voltage across the bulb. If an electric motor doesn't get the proper voltage it overheats as it tries to draw current.

Performing a voltage drop test IS NOT the equivalent of just checking for 12V at the connector without a load on the circuit. That is where the majority of service manuals fail to diagnose bad circuits.
