Okay, I was messing around with my SERT finally and installed it on my notebook, started reading my manual etc. I then go looking for the cables and there are none. I looked on HD's site and it lists my part number (32701-01F) and says it comes with the two cables, CD and Module.

So I went to dealer service counter today to ask for the cables thinking they just forgot to put them back in the box. The guy tells me they dont come with cables anymore and havent for about8 mos. Says there is a bulletin out about etc told me to talk to the accesories guy that soldit to me, he'd explain.

I just went over to parts and bought the damn cables. ($28)

My question is: Is this guy telling the truth or did they cob my cables to prevent me from using it myself or what?

I hate to be lied to. If I find out he's blowing smoke, I'm gonna be pissed.

 

They stopped shipping the cables with the SERT last summer.

 

this would be true of the 32107-01G and time frame seems about right

when they stopped putting cables in the box it got substantially smaller say about 3"X5"

bigger box being 8"X11" or so

Yeah, the sad news is; all I need was the 9 pin to 4 pin side. I dont have a serial port on my notebook. They use these things now-a-days called USB ports.

 

Does anyone have the cables HD product number? I was just going to do the canned map myself (with the CLB max recommendations stated here). But when I called my local HD, they stated they do not sell the cables anymore and would need to bring the bike in for them to install the map. Are they lying about the cables?

I got tuned about a week ago, got version G of the tuner, and there was a set of cables in my tourpak when I got home. Don't know if the stealer forgot them or not, but I do have a set of cables

 

More bad news. You do need a 9 pin serial cable. Harley didn't make the race tuner in a USB compliant format. That means that since your computer doesn't have a serial port, you will have to install a PCI/Serial adapter card,,,,,,another $20. PS don't try to go the cheap route with a USB/Serial converter cable as some do not work with the software. If for some reason you have to use the USB/Serial be sure to use one made by Belkin.
