I have a good base map that I use for my 14 SG with RCX exhaust and have been auto tuning and finishing the map each time so I can go back to a specific date if something happens. After about 8 - 10 tunes I noticed that I have several flat spots in my throttle. What I mean by this is a noticeable drop in power as I accelerate through the RPM range. I go back to my base map and it goes away.


So, this being said...how many times should I auto tune before leaving it alone? I didn't think there was a limit but in application the longer I go the less performance I am getting. Anyone else experience this?

 

If it was my bike, I'd pick the tune that has the bike running and performing the best. Then, I'd forget about doing more autotunes. Leave well enough alone. V&H says I tank of gas is enough to dial in all but the most unusual engine/exhaust/breather combinations.

 

That is where I am back to for sure.
