Default EVO - Moving to Single Fire

I have an EVO Softail with a Dynatek 2000. I am using dual fire mode.

If I want to go to single fire, is all I need to purchase a single fire coil? I see dozens of 'em out there for $40-$80, and a few around $150.

Which do you recommend given that I already have the Dynatek 2000 with the DIP switch option to convert to single fire?

Thanks.

Anybody? It's purely for aesthetics. I like the way single fire sounds :-)

I've read single fire isn't any better an not to use the dynatech or ultima coils, they don't last very one....I used the ultima ignition in dual fire an stock coil in my evo an it works well.

I don't know of any benefit from swapping over, especially on a road bike. The chaps over in the Evo section can probably enlarge on the subject.

I've used both Dynatech and Crane dual coils in single fire applications in the past. I had no issues with either...in fact the Dynatech dual single fire coil pack is still running fine on my old 1994 FXDL after 23 years of continuous service.

I have the Dyna 2ki and I actually went back to dual fire. You can pick up an OEM coil cheap at a swap meet and they last a long time.... There was no change in Idle quality or performance.....
