Electricity flows at the speed of light in a vacuum. It slows a bit when there is a dielectric involved (IIRC it's speed of light/square-root of Er).
Not sure what you point is by example. It is valid but so is closing the gap or cooler heat range on hot starts when running a high compression motor that has everything else up to snuff. Especially without compression releases..

Just replace a set of plugs in a Civic with 190k on the original plugs. The gap was over .100 .
Intakes where .003 or so over tolerance and exhaust where .002 under.
Ran no different when I adjusted valves and put in new plugs.
Timing before TDC is there due to spark and flame travel. (Not electrical travel) In degrees on crank. The gap of a plug say you change it .020 would equal so small a part of a degree, that it would be unmeasurable. I am curious. To what it is however.
