Default My speedometer won't work!

Hey guys! Nice to finally join the community I've used so often.
My speedometer stopped working the other day and I can't quite figure out why. I have a 2005 Supe Glide Custom. The bike will start but the security light stays on and the speedometer/odometer won't work. I tried to dead the codes but I can't get it show up. When I go to hold down the button, the backlight on the odometer comes on finally with the mileage but no codes. Any suggestions? It seems to still be tracking my mileage as it still goes up every time I check but the needle won't move on the speedo and when the bike is on and moving the odometer will not work. Also maybe related or not but ever since this happens my brake light will no longer work. It seems related just because of timing but could not be.

Check the fuses if you haven't already.
Check your ignition switch for corrosion, instructions here:

Check the vehicle speed sensor.

Those are good suggestions. Thanks you. Just to clarify thought, if there was a problem with the ignition switch would the bike still be able to start? Or would it more likely be a problem with a the speed sensor or a fuse? I will likely be digging in the weekend.

First thing you hear buzz when you turn the ignition switch on, with the kill switch off, is the speedometer energizing. It stands to reason the switch could be the problem.
When the kill switch is turned on, you hear the fuel pump prime.
The other thing to check is corrosion and tight ground connections everywhere you find them.

That makes sense. Well I appreciate your time. Like I said I am going to check it out this weekend. I will let you know how it goes. Thanks!

I finally got to take a look at it today. You're probably going to make fun of me but it was just a blown fuse. Simple and cheap fix thankfully. Thanks again for all of your help!
