I know, alot of you are shaking your head saying that this fuel inj is junk, and i understand. It only has 13,000 miles (i have several harleys so the miles i ride gets split up on several bikes), has stage 1 set up (air cleaner, screaming eagle pipes, download from dealer), never any issues in the past, in fact always got 46-52 mpg, so it ran well and was consistant. when i parked in november it ran and idled great, now when started after in storage for 4 months, has rough idle. it is too beautiful of a bike to trade in for what seems to me to be a minor issue (and as you know, i wouldn't get **** for a trade in at a dealer anyway). excellent shape, get compliments that it still looks like-new. worse case scenario, i'll change over to carburetor. i would rather have it sit in the garage and look great, than get rid of it. any suggestions on this "primitive" fuel injection problem?

 

No need to panic,it's likely something minor,too bad you will have to wade through a bunch of "MM is garbage,switch to a carb" responses before any helpful advice comes along. Any trouble codes? Maybe skunky fuel from sitting all winter? I would try a fresh tank of premium,fuel injector cleaner and a good ride first.I have the same bike,hopefully it behaves when I pull it out in a few weeks.

 

Change out the gas first and see what happens. No need to panic and switch to carburetor.
