What's a Molex connector? I ask because my '04 EG and my friend's '06 EG use Deutsch 12-place connectors for the handlebar wiring connectors (Connectors 22 and 24 on the '04 Service Manual wiring diagrams)and they don't require or need a special tool for pin, (actually the handlebarconnectors contain sockets and plug into an interconnect connector that has pins)removal.

07 Manuel # 22 and # 24 are now Molex connectors. Pins and connector are different than Deutsch.

Yep a small screw driver.

These connector are very easy to work with. Remove the back side lock. Then the front white pin lock guard can be completely pulledout through thefront.Once you have that off just pop the pin releases and remove the pins. NOTE: the pin locks are built into the connector (not the pin as in the past).

When reassembling push the white pin lock in half way. Once all pins have been inserted, fully seat the white pin lock.

I finally got them done and am pretty good at it now. My mistake was reading the manuel first it said DO NOT remove secondary lock but pins can only be released with special tool. I as cjuetten mentioned, removed the entire plastic piece that manuel said not to. On second plug I removed it half way then used a paper clip as my special tool which worked.

Once again thanks for everyones help

Ok I give up. How do you push the white pin lock back in after you assemble all the pins. It won't go back to its original position.

If it won't pop back in easy then you have a pin(s) not seated correctly

Recheck the pins

The pins aren't loaded correctly.

Each Molex pin has a side with a longitudinal crease and a smooth side. Load the pins so the smooth side faces the middle of the connector and the crease side faces the outside of the connector. All the smooth sides should face each other. If you do that, the white block pops right down.

You should even be able to load all pins with the white block fully seated.
