Default running rich at idle

I have a '07 Ulta with a mild Crane cam (I believe the model number is 3000 or 6000, same specs as the erlier 300), slip-ons and air cleaner. I have a TFI box to control the fuel. The bike runs well and will get 40 to 44 mpg. I have not had it dynoed. Even though the performance is good it is running rich at idle--I can smell it and there is no decel popping even if I shut off the decel fuel adding pot.
I alked to the HD dealer that sold the unit, Rockville HD, Maryland and they say the exhaust overlap is causing the rich idle. Is there any way to correct for this?
