Newbie Exhaust Question
I have recently purchased a 07 FXDSE. I have noticed the baffles appear to be removable. I thought I might take them out and see how I liked the sound.
If I remove the baffles will it start running to lean? Also is the any problems with the warranty if the baffles are removed?
Thank you for your help

RE: Newbie Exhaust Question
I own the same bike............and yes they are removable. The bike will be too loud & will not perform without them though. I was able to modify them by welding on a set of V & H long shot baffles & re-installing the stcok flange. You should re-map whether you change exhaust or not as the bikes are VERY lean from the factory.
If you are insterested in using the V & H baffles...let me know. I sent some instructions to someone else on this site & they are very happy with how they turned out.

RE: Newbie Exhaust Question
Your ECM will correct some of the leaness that you will get when removing the baffles. It may be too far for it to get the right ratio though.
You'll lose a lot of low end torque when removing the baffles. It may be time for a set of slip-ons or some new pipes.
