Starting FatBoy in neutral
I have an eye problem and not sure of the solution I own a 2014 fat boy and have been riding it for one year\11,000 miles. From the first day I picked this bike up I have been able to start it in any gear. I Brought it into the dealership to have them do some maintenance and look at a troubleshooting code and now I can only start the bike when it is in neutral. I asked the mechanic about this and he made the statement that the bike always only started in neutral and cannot start when engaged in a gear.
Am I just stupid here? I want to Harleys and the other one starts in any gear, now this one only start a neutral? Please help does anyone know what I have to adjust or change to get back to the way it was😡

I think you will find having the kickstand down AND in gear over-rides the starter. In neutral with the stand up it should start - and in gear with the stand up with the clutch pulled in it should also start. Check your owners manual, which may tell you, amongst all the dire warnings of imminent death!

There is also a setting for the kick stand in the Power Vision, I wonder if the dealer has changed that from off to on when they were looking at it.
