Air temp sensor

Air temp sensor
Two questions actually...
There are two wires in the air intake temp sensor. One is Black/White tracer, the other is Green/Yellow tracer. Which one is the "ground" or better said what is the direction of electrical current flow? Also does anyone have the sensor signal perameters? I would like to know this before I go probing around and throw a code.

RE: Air temp sensor
The 05 ultra should show B/W is the sensor ground and runs to the ECM. The circuit runs on 5 V furnished from the #7 terminal on the ECM.

I have the sensor values for you, but can't get them to post here, send me a PM with your personal email and I will send them to you.
I can give you the sensor you need here, all the rest I need an email addy to send it to you. It's a chart.
3* F = 0.0 volts
104-140*F = 2.0-3.5 volts
248*F = 5.0 Volts

RE: Air temp sensor
Thank you for the numbers. It's an 05 ultra. TC I knew you would have the info. I do not believe the sensor is bad but I do know if the ECU can be tricked into thinking the air inlet temp is colder than it really is the ECU will fatten up the fuel mix slightly. I do this with older Toyota's, BMW's and the like (OBD 1 not OBD 2). Tap in an adjustable potentiometer and dial in some resistance until you get the results desired. Just keep it below the treshold of throwing a fault code. Then build a "spigot" as it is called in the trade with the proper resistor and plug in between harness and sensor. The results are better throttle response and usually better fuel economy. I figure it is worth my time to fiddle and find out. will Post results if it works.

RE: Air temp sensor
Yeah Joe, I'd like to know the results too. Wonder if you'll set a code? These things are pretty sensitive, it may end up effecting your IAC motor being the ECM thinks it is colder than it is and weird things to the idle. I sent you the chart, let me know if you get it .
If all alse fails, go with a TFI, it'll do the same thing for you.
