I did do a search and it seems from the posts that it is normal, but what causes the fuel pump to sometimes whir nice and pretty when you turn the ignition on and every once in awhile as it is whiring there is a crackle (for lack of a better description) sound to it for just a spit second?? Is this sound a relay chattering??

 

the wirring sound is normal...electric fuel pump priming. same thing happens on you car or truck, you just don't hear it because you are nto standing right next to it. as for the other noise....not a clue, haven't heard it on mine.
