Speedo not working
I had a problem with my speedo today.
I got an '02 Superglide three weeks ago. 2700 miles. I had it out today and things were a bit off. I was in 4th gear at 35mph passing everyone like they were standing still. Not unusual to pass everyone, but at 35mph? Soon figured out that I was going a bit faster. I had it in 5th at about 42 mph. When I got home, I put it in neutral and it was reading 10mph. Turned it off. Then back on. read 2mph. Took it out later and no problems. Speedo was fine. Any ideas as to the cause? Anything I can look at, or should I chalk it up a fluke and wait to see if it happens again?
TIA

RE: Speedo not working
I had a similar problem with my '00 Sporty. The speedo started acting loopy and then finally went dead. I pulled the sensor in the tranny like EVOrider suggested and it was covered in metal shavings. The sensor is magnetic and if it gets too many shavings collected on it, the sensor stops sending signals to the speedo.
Pull it, clean it, and you should be good to go.
