Hello I am new on here my name is Chris. My bike has had a cough out of the air intake since i have bought it and it feels like its running out of fuel at times. My first thoughts were it has to be a lean fuel mixture from the old butterfly keihin. I rebuilt, jetted 185 main 58 pilot, and put on a andrews acceleration pump on the carb and it still coughes a lot. I then checked both plugs this time for spark and only have spark to the rear cylinder. My guess is its one of three things spark plug wires, coil, or ignition module, the plugs are new and gaped. Since the bike is old i ordered all three components and plan to replace them this week. Any other ideas on what it could be are welcomed. i know the butterfly carbs are junk and i just got a cv carb for it now i need the mounting brackets, air breather and the intake manifold adapter before i can put that on.
