Default OK, now really confused

2007 Deluxe.....completly stock.

At the 1000 mile service I was thinking of Vance & Hines true duels w fishtails, Ness big sucker, and pcIII or SERT.

I was at the dealer today and chatting with a few guys. I talked to a couple who did only pipes and air cleaner......no fuel management system.....just a Stage 1 update to the ECM.

Does this make sense?? I do not plan on anymods other than pipes and air cleaner.

Any help would be appreciated.

That can be answered like this. If you had a factory stock bike and added more air using a better flowing intake and then added better flowing exhaust to the mix to get the spent mix out faster, take into consideration the narrow band 02 sensors that are used, all this adds up to a mighty lean and hot engine because the narrow band sensors cannot keep up . Many are doing it and getting away with it, but the 07's run so much better and cooler with some sort of fuel management of your choice.

Yea, come to think of it the guys I was talking to did have pre-07 bikes. Well, looks like a fuel management system is in the plans.
