2002 road king EFI with recent S&S 97 ci kit, stock heads, 510 cam. Power commander V installed. Trying to get break in miles on the bike. Front cylinder heavy soot on plug, rear cylinder plug looks normal (tan). No intake leak. Compression is 200 psi on front and 205 on rear. Stumbles on acceleration however seems to be pretty smooth once at 55 mph with the occasional skip during higher mph. Am in the process of changing terminal ends on injectors due to flaky resistance readings when jiggling wires. Runs more like carb than EFI. What else should I be looking at?

 

sounds like a dirty front cylinder injector dripping fuel into the cylinder. you can swap the injectors front cyl to rear and
see if the problem moves with the injector

I'll try the switch this morning and reply.

 

Removed injectors and cleaned them plus the rail with brake clean and air. Switched the injectors from front to rear, added marvel mystery oil to fuel. Ran 15 miles pulled plugs and no carbon on plugs.
I'll try 100 miles tomorrow and see if the problem is solved.
