Default Stuck Turn signal button

I have a stuck button. It wont push in. I took the housing off an giggled it a bit, but im afraid of going any further in case i break something due to thefact that it is my first bike and im mechanically handicapped. Does anyone have any ideas? I had some new pipes put on in jan, and thats when it all happened. It is a 99 Fatboy.

theres a little stop tab i beleve, or at least in the 01 and up which i think the 99's are the same. check and see if its on the wrong side of the stop or that the return spirng is in the right place. is it the right side?? the stealer did that to mine and fixed it after i told them what was wrong. i;ve had the switch housings off to do grips and cables as well as the switches out of the housing to put the chrome buttons on. its a pretty simple little thing, im sure you wont break anything.
