I live out here and will not stop to gawk, and most of the time do not/will not ride the park on a bike.

Mama didn't raise no fool..

Buffalo have picked bikers and their bikes up and flung them up in the air out here in the park.

I got stuck in the middle of a herd of them in 2011 just outside of Keystone. I was more nervous than a squirrel trying to **** a prune pit. A couple got close enough I could feel and smell their breath. Something I don't want to repeat. Total feeling of helplessness.

 

My wife and I got caught in a similar situation this summer in Theodore Roosevelt National Park in ND. Those are some very big animals. One guy did get knocked off his bike. The buffalo pushed passed his bike and just moved it out of its way.

Been there did that with them going on both sides of us. Not something I want to do again........LOL. Once was enough.

 

My brother in law and I were returning from the 2010 Sturgis and rode through Yellowstone. A couple of big bulls didn't want to get out of the way so we did a U-turn and pulled over to wait. We figured those big dumb things might view a pair of (smaller) Harleys as a threat...or worse found them sexy. Either way, we didn't want any part of them.

 

I was in my Jeep & Sis & brother in law on bikes, but didn't realize just HOW dangerous this was.

Talked to a local & they said there is usually a death a year from these...

Had the same problem when we went to Maui, didn't know what the yellow flags meant....until wave dislocated bother in law's shoulder...
