The TT is as tough as road racing gets - normal narrow street, surrounded with kerbs, walls and street furniture. Also don't forget it can be wet and cold on the Island too. And then you have to overtake. Different kind of people race there. If I ever started thinking I was a pretty quick rider I just took a look at these guys and realised that racers are several leagues above mere riders and anything I ever used to be able to achieve. Respect.

If you're over for TT, there's a Harley meet starting about 11 on Mad Sunday run by my club, Moddey Dhoo MCC. Any other time, just look us up on the web - if the weather's nice we meet at the grandstand at 1 on a Sunday. Visitors are welcome to ride with us.

Gotta ask though, what do they win?
Glory. Respect. Factory rides. It's not about the money, most racers are do this for the challenge/love of the race. Prize money varies from class to class but it's not in the same league as Moto GP. I saw an article where winning the main events was worth around £25k a few years ago - may have gone up since then.

Ive done 200mph and ive done 140mph wheelies on my 09 zx10r. That being said id never do the isle of man. Im only 22 so i still kinda have a lust for doing stupid things but im trying to calm it down thats why i got my first harley. You have to have insane skill to complete the isle of man on those narrow and unpredictable roads. Very cool race!
