One good thing about the Abacus.....it was Y2K compatible! How many owners of high end PCs were in a panic at the end of 1999?

I've seen several of these videos, but this one was great.

None. That was a 2 digit date code issue most problematic with old COBOL era code that happened to still be running....well beyond it's original projected life. Anything new (high end) and built within 5 years of Y2K was not at risk.

As the Y2k Project Manager for a medical billing service (at the time) I can promise you it was for more pervasive than a 2 digit date code issue most problematic with old COBOL era code. The biggest thing with PCs was the System BIOS that wasn't designed to go beyond 1999. Lots of hardware devices with imbedded code that couldn't go beyond 1999.

To the topic, My son had a Honda CBR 1100rr (I think) but he always bragged about how high tech his bike was, it didn't have self canceling turn signals and he really flipped when I showed him how I could record engine data and completely re-calibrate my EFI using my SEPST and have to have some sort of piggy back controller.
