I'm with y'all. I have been trying to follow-up on this and haven't seen any updates. I'll keep ya in the loop. My father and grand father were both long time Columbus Police Officers. It hits home because they were men of the badge and I have a love for riding the motorcycle.

I don't know how they do it where your from but here we stop for funeral processions and even pull to the side of the road and stop on 2 lane roads. As far as the Officer I have seen them block an intersection then race ahead and block off the next intersection just like he was doing. Screw her for feeling thateveryone is living in her world!

I couldn't get the vid to play here at work. Hope the officer is okay. There are consequences here for interrupting a funeral procession.

WOW, what a crash, like everyone else i hope the officer is ok. I didn't think it was possible even for a Harley to hit a SUV so hard that it would spin it around and flip it on its side. Such a sad day for all of them.

With enuff speed, that 800 lb bike will impart a LOT of kinetic energy.

Worked a fatal last year.....kid on a sportbike hit the side of a pick up hard enuff to cause the truck to roll over.

I was just now able to get that vid to play. It said at the end that the officer was 70 yrs old and just came back to work from having a pacemaker installed.

That's one tough dude.

Found this news report.

http://www.wcpo.com/news/local/story...0-0d0bfd3c99de

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - A Columbus man involved in an accident while escorting a funeral procession is recovering today.

John Robinson, an employee of privately owned Funeral Police Escort, was trying to stop a sport utility vehicle from cutting through the procession on Saturday.

A video shows the 71-year-old's motorcycle skidding to the pavement just before hitting the side of the SUV.

Robinson suffered a broken pelvis, a broken ankle, a broken wrist, two broken ribs and also had his front teeth knocked out.

Jeannette Semones, the owner of Funeral Police Escort, says Robinson underwent surgery yesterday at Riverside Methodist Hospital and is listed in critical condition.

The driver of the SUV was not seriously hurt and was cited for interfering with a funeral procession.

I don't think he was trying to stop her from cutting through the procession. My guess is he was headed for the next light to block traffic and assumed, as I would have, that the vehicle was surely not going to cross the funeral procession. He was going way too fast to have stopped in front of herand block her crossing.

I also wouldn't call an Element a SUV. My wife drives a Suburban...that's a SUV.

Glad the old guy is okay. I hope to still be riding at 70.
