Spark Issues/Engine Stalls
H everyone, my Street Rod has a bit of a problem. I'll lay out what I've witnessed and what I've done, please help me as much as you can, thanks.
Day 1:
I decided to change my spark plugs because my bike is at 12,000 miles, and at the reassurance of many bikers I used penetrating oil to help loosen the plugs. One broke while tightening, but I removed it with a screw extractor without issue. I used NGK CR9EIX, and they worked even better than when I first got my bike. Better sound, smoother idle, swifter throttle response, etc.
Day 2:
Still, excellent performance
Day 3:
On my way to work, no issue. (15 minute trip)
On my way to second job, (20 minutes) I saw fluid leaking from the engine case. When I arrived I determined it did not contain oil, fuel, or coolant, and was purely the p. oil. Orange-brown in color, no scent, tasted like solvent. Leaked a little more on the way home then stopped leaking, haven't seen it again. Still ran perfectly.
Day 4:
Enter cold front. Temperatures dropped 35° overnight, and bike had trouble starting in the morning. Hesitant throttle, and sudden changes in throttle input bogged the engine distressingly. Made it a mile before she stalled. Pushed it back home. Tried changing spark plugs after work, no luck. Previous pair was not seemingly fouled, but had dried p. oil on them, as did the wires and ignition coils. Turned over the bike without plugs a couple times to try to eject any foreign elements.
Symptoms:
Difficulty starting
Hesitant throttle/stalling
Misfiring/backfiring
Rough/inconsistent idle
Day 5:
Put seafoam in gas tank and oil to eliminate issues caused by p. oil in those systems, as well as some in spark plug hole to help that, idled engine for about 30 minutes. No improvement until...
Day 6:
MUCH better performance, started without difficulty, revved ok at first, started to lose performance. Was able to ride around the block before I lost confidence in the spark. Same symptoms returned but less so than earlier. Changed oil after work, noticed some oil buildup deep in spark plug hole, underneath plugs. I believe it to be p. oil.
I've ordered new wires and ignition coils, and will replace spark plugs with them when they come in. Will clean oil buildup out of spark plug hole first. My biggest questions are, will these parts fix the problems, and did the p. oil cause worse problems inside the engine, such as ruining gaskets/seals? Any tips for the next step? Please forgive the long post, and thanks again for any and all help.

Not a fan of NGKs, but to each their own. The plugs have nothing to do with it stalling unless it's a bad set of plugs? That has happened. There was no problem at all before the plug change right? Try another set. If you use some anti seize on the plugs when you change them, you don't need anything to get them out. Don't John Wayne the plugs. Did you gap the plugs per the manual? (Manual??) Bad gas? Not you, the bike. Sounds like a fuel issue? Got spark? Easy stuff to check before you get too involved.

No warranty unfortunately, and I'm trying to avoid paying $150+/hr to fix this.
I gapped them each time, and oddly enough the pair they came with were not gapped at all. Go figure.
Fuel has been fine, I use the same stuff every time. All connections under gas tank are connected and whole.
I might try getting a cheap pair of plugs instead of the NGKs and see if it works with new ones after all that seafoam

Not trying to be a douche in your time if need but how the hell does someone break a spark plug while installing it? I've been fixing and working on my stuff since I was about 7 or 8 with my first Rupp mini bike and I've never broken a spark plug in anything. Maybe it's time to pay that money and get it straightened out. Then you can start to learn how to work on the bike...get a factory service manual...come here and ask questions ...dont believe or do everything one of your biker buds tells you either lol. I really hope you get it figured out but it sounds you just need to take a step back and get some solid answers and stop throwing "mechanic in a can" answers at it.

Just finished refilling oil, had to change it because of the seafoam. Removed spark plugs to examine them, they had oil on them and thick white smoke, almost steam, came from the hole. White smoke from exhaust. Oil looks strange, almost milky with thin bubbles? Still no improvement in engine.

Maybe it's time to pay that money and get it straightened out. Nope no help here...i have no experience with that bike so I really can't give you any specific answers. I won't be "that guy" who gives advice on something I know nothing about. Now what I do know...with only 12k on the bike the plugs should have come out no problem...always take them out when the motor is cool. Put a dab of anti seize on the new plug and always thread them in as far as you can by hand...never start them with a wrench.
Did you make any changes to the bike...intake, exhaust??? Anything other than just the plugs?
Question for some one smarter than me...could there have been damage done to the motor by hydro locking with the seafoam he poured in the cylinders? That's about all I got, hopefully you'll get figured out without breaking the bank
