Default Tire Life

Hi all. I've a 2018 Street Rod 750 with just over 6000 miles. How do I know when it's time for new tires? The tread looks ok and the bike had its 5K service a few months ago, but even though this is my second bike I'm ashamed to admit I don't know how long motorcycle tires last. I appreciate your help. Oh, if it helps I ride about three times per week.

Cheers, David

Here in PA the minimum tread depth to pass state inspection is 2/32". Lots of variables determine tire life- riding style, type of tire compound, weight of bike. You can get a tire that has more grip and corners better but may not last as long as one with a harder compound.

HD tires have wear bars in the thread. The tire that comes on the Street line is a good tire . It is a bit more towards the sport side so it will be a bit softer.
