gotta have that service manual, for each and every bike i've owned......... i read somewhere on one of these forums just lately that someone was going to replace their clutch with a barnett setup. they mentioned some other brand, but i remembered barnett 'cause they've been around for a few years

It took a bit of fiddling at both ends of the adjustment to get the clutch adjusted the way I wanted it on my Street Rod. It seems touchy to even small adjustments.

Barnett does have a replacement clutch that offers 12-15% stiffer springs for faster and stronger engagement.

Has anyone here tried the barnett clutch plate kit? Did it help?

Default Cable or hydraulic?

Could someone help me out? Is the clutch on the Street 750 considered a cable clutch or a hydraulic clutch? I’m just trying to buy some hand guards and the sizing is different depending on which it is. Thanks!

Welcome to the Forum. Both the Street 500 and 750 use the cable clutch. Even the Street Rod 750 use the cable clutch. It's a good design and easy to maintain.

Not entirely correct. Clutch really has no adjustment . Free play in cable is about it. That is not really adjusting the clutch. Proper free play keeps you from burning clutch out early. It is a lousy design.

Default Neutral rattle on HD 750….

Just purchased a 2019 street 750 with 2500 miles. Driving it without my full face helmet I noticed a slight noise that is eliminated when I pull in the clutch (even a little bit). Should I consider it normal or is it some kind of problem with the clutch/gearbox?

The clutch adjustment is more of just a cable adjustment. It must be done right of the Xg clutch will not last.
I will post the steps latter today if you check back. I have posted it in this forum before so a search may shown it.
You must do this by the book.
AT 2,500 it is still new clutch may need adjustment.
In Fall we replaced the first 750 XG clutch with 3 of the here. It had just of 50,000 miles miles on.
The signs were simple. slipping and no amount of cable adjustment would correct it.

Default Barnet clutch

I put new clutch in but still was slipping and Harley said was common problem. So my mechanic put a spring and bottom of clutch cable where connects to the clutch and solved the problem. I guess it wasn’t releasing all the way when releasing the lever

If you pulled the clutch then when putting it back together the the spring was either left out or installed wrong. They did not add a part.

Also common mistake is plug left out or falls out.
