Default Are 5 wire trailers popular?

I'm shopping for a wire harness and most seem to be 5 wire and you have to add a converter for 4 wire. It got me wondering if most trailers were 5 or 4 wire? I thought about converting mine, but couldn't find 5 wire lamps for it.

My trailer is made by Mission. It came from the factory with a 5 wire harness. It only has brake lights and signal lights, so I rewired the connector to be compatible with the connector on my trike, which is a 4 wire.

convertors go bad a lot. I just add separate turns signals and rewire. Mike

I'll probably add separate ones and rewire. The real question is why are 5 wire trailer lights so hard to find. You'd think someone would sell an integrated lamp. Not even Harbor Freight. There is only one trailer shop around and its about 40 miles away. Probably spendy there too, but probably ride over there this week.

Thanks rmc, that's what I did. Now have 4 lights on the trailer. Made all 4 taillights, the inner pair brake, and TS for the outer. Works good. I did find some integrated lamp assembles made by Bargman that I could have ordered through Autozone, but they were about $50 a lamp. I just bought the $7 ones and made brackets to mount them.
