Front Tire

Front M/C tires new come with 8/32" of tread the rear M/C tire averages 12/32" tread. Im currently @ 15k miles on the MU85 tire and it looks like I have more then half the tread still to go. If I would have been running another front M/C tire I would be looking to replace it by now.

I have to disagree. I wore out 2 front tires and both wore right down the middle. The front M/C tire is crowned for easier handling for a 2 wheel bike as a trike will only wear the center of the tire. Im currently running a Dunlop MU85 rear in reverse rotation on the front of my trike to get a larger contact patch on the road and more mileage out of a tire on the front.

If there was a car tire that would fit the front of a M/C you state " Because of the rake, when making short turns, you would be running on the edge of the tire with a flat surface. "
If Im wearing the tire down the middle now on a M/C type tire front or rear type mounted to the front, how would the flatter profile of a car tire change??
Trikes dont lean like a 2 wheel M/C and Im sure there isnt enough lateral force to cause the car tire outer sidewall to roll inward like a car tire.

I took a piece of chalk, marked across the entire tread of the front tire. I made a series of "full stop" turns in the parking lot. Guess what, most of the chalk was gone. Anyway, hopefully the discussion was helpful. I didn't mean to start an argument, just share some observations. I'll just let it at that.
