If your building a engine for either a trike or a bike with a sidecar setup, IMHO you should be looking for torque over horsepower. Combining the TQ with proper gearing will give you the power needed to move any motorcycle rig easily. Horsepower doesnt come into play until you in the upper end RPM range.
My advice would be to contact several reputable engine builders such as R&R, TMAN performance, Hillside, Fuelmoto to name just a few. Tell them what your riding and what your wanting to acheive and Im sure they will give you good advice on a reliable engine package they can build.
