Default Suggestions for adding parking brake to Champion trike

I've had my 07 Road King/Champion trike for 4 years now. Besides wishing for an electric reverse, I'd really like a parking brake. I've emailed Champion, but no reply. Anybody out there who's tackled this problem?

Thx.

Theres been a number of Triglide owners who have taken off the parking brake. I have a Motortrike kit with no parking brake, but if you want a very cheap suggestion to give you a parking brake

Go to Ebay and purchase yourself one of these about 12" in length and when you feel you need to have a parking brake wrap this around the throttle and brake lever and you will have a brake engaged while parked

Ebay>> http://cgi.ebay.com/Velcro-Reusable-...item9757a62588

I've basically been doing something like that for the past four years.

I have some BIG rubber bands.

If you want to get technical...you can purchase a line lock off e-bay, or wherever. The line lock plumbs in series with your brake line and it's just a quick-release valve. Many folks that have the mechanical ones installed take them off and throw them away. You will require a set of calipers (if disc brake equipped) that has the mechanism to engage the parking brake by pushing the caliper pistons in with the operation of the parking brake lever.

Use a bungee, BIG rubber bands or the Velcro strap FLTR mentioned. Mine has never ran-off by itself yet!

I have VT stand next to my trike and hold it there. He's like one of those indian cigar poles. Don't cost much either.

Hey Wiz........when did you come out of hibernation and climb-up out of the root cellar?

Yep....I will perform any assigned task.....just bring me a Budweiser every 15-20 minutes and I will stand there for as long as the beer keeps coming.

I'm all healed up and riding again... Ready for the trip to MV, just got to take it slow.

btw.. I use the bungee loop with the ball end on my throttle/brake lever when VT isn't around.

A PGR rider buddy got off his Goldwing Trike at a mission and forgot to put his in gear before getting off. It rolled backwards, jumped a curb, went down a hill and hit a pinetree. 3800.00 for repairs. I had a spare bungee loop and gave it to him when I heard that story. I never see him without it now.

If you got it....flaunt it. If the shoe fits....wear it.

(I think I hear Mister Moderator creeping up on us.)
