Default Project cabin fever.

I live in northern Michigan, it is the middle of January. It is cold and there is no snow. So what do you do?

You and your dad take a old junk trailer, hack it up and use it to build a trailer to haul your bike south where it is warmer to ride.

Axel chopped to narrow .

We have a nice set of aluminum wheels to put on it, plan on a wood deck.

So far the only thing we have bought is a new coupler and the ply-wood for the deck. For a total of forty dollars into it. We will need to buy some rattle cans to paint it with, so we should get it done with around fifty dollars into it.

50's retro look ! I think your old man had to much input on this project

May as well finish it up in black and red strips on the fenders for the full effect .

Good idea on the colors.

Plan on putting a bar under the tongue going across so we will have wide tie down points in the front, and we will put some in the back as well.

Nice project. Load up and head to Daytona when you are done.

We already have a utility trailer (same style as that one) that is in good shape. This one was beat to death by its previous owner, and the idea is to have a narrower, lower, and lighter trailer specifically built for hauling a bike.

And it gives us something to do.

A hot wrench, grinder and a welder, great way to kill a cold winter's day! I have made several different types of trailer's. Well my students have!

I think welding should be taught in elementary school...

I'm glad Ky. D.O.T. has a sence of humor!
