Arrow Can you be seen in the daylight?

Have someone ride behind you and use your blinkers and brakes. Have the person behind you look to see if your lights can be seen flashing or on in the bright daylight.

You may think this is not an issue but several people have told me, including a LEO friend of mine that there is no way they can tell if I am stopping or turning without hand signals. Pulling into my home street I hear behind me a loud screeeeeech as the car behind me was speeding and wasn't paying attention to my hand signals or tail lights that he obviously couldn't see so he had to hit the brakes to keep from slamming in to me during a turn.

My bumper has 10 LED lights, two on each end act as turn lights and the six in the center are stop lights... each LED light has three LED bulbs, none can be seen in the daylight.

I have tombstone incandescent taillights. They act as a running light, turn signal and brake light... can't see anything blinking or turned on in the daylight.

The tourpak has a LED lighted wing for running and brake... It has the standard turn indicator lights and running lights....can't see any of them either unless you look real close.

Now, during low light or at night all of these lights combined will blind the person behind me.

I have been looking to change the tombstone tail lights to LED with no success. They are two wire with ground so they will work as either running, brake or turn lights.. If anyone has found a LED replacement for these please chime in.

Hey Wizard heres a sugestion>> http://www.customdynamics.com/street...one_Tail_Light scroll down to the LED boards for tombstones

I have the LEDs from theses guys for the front turn signals on my trike and if these boards for the tombstones tail lights are anything close to what I have these will be bright.

On my Motortrike I got ride of the stock tombstones and the LEDS that were on my bumper and went to Kuryakyn LED tombstone tail lights and dual 3" strip LED lights from Radianz lights on the bumper.

For additional turn signal lights I used a aftermarket 3rd brake light that I mounted under my tourpack that only light up when the turn signal is used.

I used Ridetime technologies LED boards in my tourpack brake lights.

I was told by my buddies the LED tombstones I have now are hard to see in the day light as well, but my LEDS in the tourpack and the LED strip lights on my bumper and the ones I installed under my tourpack for turn signals are very visable

LED turn signals I mounted under the tourpack ( These things are bright!! ) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/24-LE...Q5fAccessories I mounted 2 of them

Thinking about converting the tombstone to a bull LED board.

http://www.chopperscycle.com/LIGHTIN...-p6880374.html

Then changing the red lens to a smoke

http://www.chromeglow.com/catalog.as...showprevnext=1

Nothing I can do about my bumper bar LEDs but I like the idea of putting a stop LED bar under the tourpak.. thanks Tom

Default added signal lights

I was think of adding those round array of leds at the end of my handlebars. Be a good visible place for signals. Ones alerting a vehicle on either side at night, that your changing over to their lane.

Heres some pictures of my lights. The middle picture is when I had the running lights on with the 4 ways going. The tourpack brake lights are in running mode only

The aftermarket lights I used for turn signals under the tourpack are single function only. They are mounted with 3M dual sided moulding tape.

The 3" strip lights are multi function , run, brake and turn signal

Heres a longer version of what Im using for turn signals >> http://hoglite.com/

I gave up on finding boards and lens to correct my old tombstone lights. Was like a cat chasing it's tail. I removed the lights and put them on the shelf for now.

I ordered a new set of tombstone LED fixtures. When they come I will install them and see if that is any better. If not I will work on T's suggestion with the bar under the tourpak. If nothing else you will need sunglasses when riding behind me at night.
