Default Trailer weight

How much weight can you safely tow with a 96 cui 6 speed trans? I'm thinking of getting a trailer to use with my wife.

I'm thinking mine is 225 to 250 loaded. If needed I can pick up the rear and slide it over when loaded.

My Bunkhouse weighs 325 without any gear. And I load my down pretty full. I pull it with an 02 RKC with and 88 5 speed.

I pull 1 of 2 different trailers with my 2003 Ultra, I have since added the 103 stroker set up with some other upgrades.
I only have a 5 speed and frankly I'm not all that sure you'll need or use 6th gear often if at all.

My trailer empty must be mid 300's add the gear ?
Just remember have a tongue weight of about 10% of the trailer weight.
You'll probably need to play with your load a little.
If she sways, add tongue weight.
What's really nice is your bags can be near empty so the low gravity weight on the hitch will feel like your bike is lighter than when your bags are full and if like me a stack of stuff on the tour pac rack too.

My 2003 Ultra is the black of course. lol

my other trailer is just for cargo, and my wife's wheelchair fits in with all our gear. Road trips are so much easier when you can just unhook and then ride around and enjoy the areas you travel to.
