TG survey

<in-part> I all ways wanted one. Im Getting old and sick. Can't take it with me. It's my time what ever I got left. My health ain't as good as it was , High BP High blood suger clogged coratic artery. Compressed disc in my neck making my right arm weak uvites in my right eye . Going get a shot in the spine on Thursday hope it works. The Tri Glide brings me joy when I have a good day to ride her life is short enjoy it best you can.
Carlo,
Not only do we share the same taste in motorcycles, we also have similar medical issues and share the same philosophy on life!
After a few surgical procedures, carotid artery being one of them; I feel that I have been given a second chance at life and intend live it to its fullest! I have pledged to my self that I will never look back with regret that I didn’t seize upon an opportunity or do something that I wanted to!
I am no longer able to handle a two wheeler the way I was once able to; so discretion being the better part of valor, I reluctantly sold my two bikes. If it were not for the trike, I would no longer be riding; thus depriving myself of something that I loved doing for the past 40+ years!
I am in total agreement with your advise…”life is short, enjoy it the best you can”!
Mr. Frank Sinatra sums up my personal goal for what ever time I have remaining, when he sang “MY WAY”; my favorite lyrics are: ”I’ve lived a life that’s full” and “Regrets, I’ve had a few but then again too few to mention” and my favorite lyric; the one that I have modeled my life by: “The record shows I took the blows and did it my way”! Yes, it was my way
Carlo, I hope all goes well for you on Thursday and the injection does what it is intended to do; good luck!

Carlo, I have not received the survey you are referring to. Was there any expiation as to the reason for this survey or how the information gleaned from it will be used? Will the information be shared or sold to a third party? Maybe I’m being overly suspicious but without knowing the motive for these questions; I would be reluctant to answer such questions as: “how fast do you ride in the rain” or “have you modified your bike in anyway”!

Thank you Jim. On the survey It seems to me. That there interested in how the Trike handles. What I thought of the brakes,Elec reverse,If I ride in the rain, if I leave my TRI out side in the rain. How often I wash my TRI and how with water hose power washer, bucket wash or just cleaning products no water. If I did any mods Exhaust Air box, down loads. Suspension mods. I stated trunk leak trunk door hard to close opens when I hit a bump in the road. Rear brakes very poor stopping power They need larger rotors and caliphers. Elec reverse is hard to use. They also asked in what temps I ride my Trike and what kind of road surfaces. I think they are going to address our problems with our Tri Glides. Maybe Im naive on this one but I think Harley Davidson is going fix our problems. Or come out with up grades. This did not seem like a marketing survey. But more on what the TG issues are Leaks Brakes Elec Reverse Heat , power and handling.

You should be leary of some of the questions but this might be an opportunity to get some help ( or at least another ear )with our trunk leak and what ever else that might need attention. I still say that the paint on the trike body is inferior to the remainder of the bike. It seems to mark easier and appears to be splotchy.<End Quote>

I certainly hope that you two are correct! I’ll be looking forward to receiving the survey.

If I slam it shut HARD I hear a rush of air. When I can get it closed that way which is not often. Yes I lock the push button lock Then I does not open as of yet. But I hate useing the trunk as I have to slam it shut 3-5 times for this to happen some times I cant get the trunk door to compress the gasket. So I use the tour pack instead. Im wating for a one time fix from HD before I bring it in. Don't like going back and forth for experamental solutions for the trunk leak and door closing with out slaming the the heck out of it. I just want to ride the TG. They the MC should of used T handles instead of a push button lock.

Besides the leak the need to slam is a big problem. I would hazard a guess that over time the fiberglass body and maybe trunk lid will start stress cracking.

The fix to the trunk slamming is to take the inner panel off of the trunk lid. I think there are four screws. Comes off in a jiffy. Look at the top bracket that holds the pins. Your left pin will appear longer and your right pin not quite long enough to latch properly. Take a pair of pliers or grips and pull the right portion of the bracket out until you have even pins. Worked like a charm. No more slamming and no more popping open. I do keep it locked just in case, but really don't think I need to. Very easy fix.
